NIC Women’s Volleyball gears up for home opener

NIC Volleyball is back this fall, hosting their home opener Sept. 11 against The  Walla Walla Warriors. The Cardinals are 6-5 on the season, starting slowly in August but holding a 4-1 record in September.

With only five sophomore players, coach Kelsey Stanley has 10 freshmen rounding out the roster. Stanley spoke about how hard retaining players at a community college can be and how heavy of an emphasis she has to put on team building.

“I believe we are very talented and just need to mesh to reach our full potential this year.” Stanley said, “It’ll just be a rocky road and what we make of practice will determine who we are this year.

Coach Stanley also highlighted that the home opener against Walla Walla and our games against Spokane Falls Community College are likely to be the most competitive games this year.
