Students of NIC: Tracie Espinoza

NIC student Tracie Espinoza has wanted to get her degree for a fairly long time. After 20 years, she finally had the money and resources to go back to school to get her degree in business accounting.

“I’m a nerd. I’ve always been fascinated with finance, numbers, and checks and balances, which is all what accounting is, making sure this adds up to this and it balances,” Espinoza said.

On top of being a full-time student, Espinoza also works full-time at Fairchild Air Force Base in the commissary. Both Espinoza’s husband and daughter also attend NIC.

Out of the three junior colleges she’s attended, Espinoza enjoys NIC the best.

“NIC has been excellent with helping me through my journey. The staff has been extremely helpful in guiding where to go, how to get things done, and how to find scholarships,” Espinoza said.

After she graduates from NIC this winter, Espinoza plans to continue her education at Lewis-Clark State College.
