NIC Presses Start on Newest Club.

The Alliance of Cardinal E-Sports(ACE) has just become North Idaho Colleges newest club. On the 2nd of September 2025, representatives of the club attended the inter-club council(ICC) meeting. Club president Jackson McAllister put forward the proposal and the club was formally and enthusiastically accepted.
McAllister said the club’s objective is “to provide an inclusive environment for NIC students and gaming”. This means that it is meant to provide a centralized community where NIC’s gamers can connect with each other. As part of this objective to create an inclusive community, they do not have a set-list of games that they compete in. Instead, the club invites members to bring forward the games they are interested in, and discuss what they would like to play as a club.

Additionally, club meetings will be both online and in-person. This way students who are not on campus will be able to attend and participate in club events and conversations. Meeting times are still being discussed. The club also announced they are looking forward to the Mario Party event on campus.
In longer term goals, the club has been in talks with representatives from the University of Idaho E-Sports team. According to their website, the U of I has both varsity and junior varsity teams for “ a wide variety of titles”. There are also potential scholarships up to $20,000 for students who excel in e-sports on a “case by case basis”.
