Join the club: the inside scoop at NIC Club Fair

Published on

NIC’s club leaders gathered together on Wednesday to introduce students to their organizations. The Student Union Building began bustling around noon, tables lined the dining hall, but students weren’t there for lunch, they were there for a taste of what NIC clubs had to offer.

“I’m really glad I came; this was cool,” NIC student Kat Priest said. “I didn’t know we had all these clubs, and I got to play some video games.”

Most of NIC’s active clubs had representatives at their tables to answer questions and invite students to join. Tables had a variety of displays showcasing props, equipment, pictures and information on activities. Some clubs went the extra mile, enticing students with candy and chances to win prizes.

Students gathered around the Do I.T. Club’s table.

NIC has a variety of clubs to offer. Ranging from physically active clubs such as the Great Outdoors, Climbers, Pickleball and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to those more centered on providing a safe, welcoming community like the GSA, DSA, and Campus Alive in Christ clubs. Others are looking to expand their talents like the Drama, Aspiring Artists and Do I.T. clubs. Some are looking to improve the environment like the Ecology Club, and some just want to have fun, like the D&D and Tabletop Clubs.

To those who didn’t make it to the fair and are curious about what they missed, the Sentinel was able to interview many of the club leaders. Although we didn’t get to chat with all of them, you can still see the full list of currently active club at NIC’s website for more information.
