Women win home opener

The North Idaho College women’s basketball team defeated the North Idaho All-Stars 83-74 Nov. 3 at Rolly Williams Court.

Aimee Durbidge came up with a steal and finished with a lay up early in the first half to ignite the Lady Cardinals.

Jansen Butler hit two back-to-back three-pointers to give NIC a lead with 10 minutes left in the first half.

I thought we played really well,” said head coach Chris Carlson. “All-star games aren’t easy to coach, but we came out and took it right at them.”

In the first half, Tori Davenport drove to the rim before dishing it to Mollie Kramer who hit a three putting NIC up 52-32.

The second half we came out strong, but these guys came and gave it everything that they had down the stretch, and really tried to make it a game, which I was really happy about,” Carlson said.
