NIC ends spring with alumni game

In a game that players focused mostly on having fun rather than the final score, the North Idaho College womens soccer team still fell to the NIC alumni team 4-3.

“I love seeing them,” NIC head coach Dan Hogan said. “That’s, for me, one of the fun parts about coaching is getting to be with the kids and see them change.”

The current team led at halftime 2-1, but a 3-1 second half run by the alumni proved too much for the Cardinals.

Jaimee Hulst scored the first goal for the current group and Kellsi Parson and Kacy Johnson scored as well.

Some of the alumni are still playing at four-year schools.

“It was fun,” NIC freshman forward Meghan Pagano said. “It was cool to see all the old alumni come back. I actually played with a couple of them in high school and a bunch of them are my rivals so it was good to have them back.”
