Riverstone Lights Up for its 20th Anniversary

Kootenai Humane Society hosted the Light Up Riverstone event for its 20th anniversary Friday night. All sales went to their campaign for a new no-kill shelter.

They held several booths and games within the park to celebrate as a band called Superchrome played music, while a light show flashed behind them each hour.

Restaurants from the Coeur d’Alene and Riverstone area offered free samples. Among various choices were Anthony’s Restaurant, Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery, Azteca Southwest Grill, and The Culinary Stone. Beer and wine were served by Rokko’s Teriyaki and BBQ, The Cork and Tap, and Vine & Olive. Bear Paw Cookies and Cold Stone Creamery served desserts.

Visitors played games for a chance to win prizes. Golf croquet, floating greens, corn hole toss, and a treasure hunt through the Idaho Wildlife Museum were all featured.

Over $80 in prizes were rewarded hourly to those who scored the highest.

Every hour, Superchrome played sets of popular music, such as Don’t Stop Believing by Journey. In Riverstone’s water features, small metallic flowers spewed fire at every hour as more classical music played while the band took short breaks.
