Gov. Brad Little signed on a “Stay Home” order effective immediately

Idaho Governor Brad Little signed a “stay home” order earlier this morning that is effective immediately and will remain in effect for the next 21 days.  The order orders Idaho citizens to self-isolate whether or not you are sick and limit travel only to essential businesses.

“Our public health officials and I will consider whether to renew the order in a couple of weeks,” said Little.

Little stressed that that everyone must limit all non-essential social gatherings of any number of individuals outside the household.  He also said that when taking part in outdoor activities, everyone should maintain the suggested 6 feet distance between individuals outside the household.

Gov. Little said that, at this time, he is hoping this order will be enforced through peer pressure as it is their first preference.  Though each county will be looked at case by case as they come in.

“Our goal isn’t to arrest people,” said Little. “Our goal is to keep Idahoans safe be maintaining this stay home order.”

The Govoner will make the order available later today on the official Idaho coronavirus website.

As of Tuesday, according to the official Idaho coronavirus website, there has been 73 confirmed cases of coronavirus, three of which are in Kootenai county.

“We are all in this together and we must all do our part.” said Little. “I am proud of Idaho in the way we support and love our neighbors.”
