Letter to the Editor: Disability Support Alliance

Hi, my name Is Jon Brickert and I am the current president of the Disability Support Alliance club. I am pursuing a career in computer information technology, and I have ADHD and Cerebral Palsy.

The Club’s Mission is to guide people with disabilities to find their purpose, and realize their potential through mutual encouragement and development of collaborative life skills necessary for creative solutions to daily challenges.

The NIC Disability Support Alliance (DSA) Club was founded to assist people with disabilities at North Idaho College to find the resources available to enhance their life, experience, and to give them hope. Perhaps you are a student who does not have a disability but have a heart for helping others. We would also invite you to attend a DSA Club meeting on campus.

All NIC students are welcome who want to encourage, be encouraged, and make friends and make a difference in the lives of others.  Resources will be available for disabled students will be discussed. Events to engage the community will be planned.

We meet every Wednesday from noon to one in

Lee-Kildow Hall in room 245. Come join us! To reach us please Contact Club President Jon Brickert at jmbrickert@nic.edu or Faculty Advisor, Cynthia Nelson at csnelson@nic.edu.

Thanks,Jon Brickert
