Outdoor Pursuits readies for upcoming trips

Outdoor Pursuits coordinator Terry Brinton wants all students to know that they are geared and ready for a variety of upcoming outings for this semester, and are readying for the next.  While the Canoe & Kayaking trip to Upper Priest River, and Wallowa Mountain Woodcutting trip are both presently full, Outdoor Pursuits wants to let students know that the two remaining trips for the semester are both open, and awaiting for sign-ups.  Happening on the 16th of November from Noon through 2 in the afternoon, the “Ski Tuning Clinic” promises to help students learn how to properly tune their skis.  While this is not an outdoors trip, it is nonetheless important for students to learn, especially living in the climate in which we do, which offers plenty of opportunities, including several coming up in the Spring, which are offered by Outdoor Pursuits.  In December, towards the end of the semester, a “Avalanche Awareness” trip will be offered in the 17th, starting at 7am, and going through 4pm that day.  The course itself is offered on Wednesday the 14th of December from 5PM to 8PM, and is required for those going on the trip to the Silver Valley area, which is where the main event is to be held.  Those interested should know that this trip is weather-dependent, as it is the earliest offering possible for this trip.  Please arrive at 7AM sharp the day of the main trip (December 17).  NIC Managing Editor Chance Bond shall be going on the trip.  If interested, sign up fast, as at the time of writing, there is just 1 open spot left.  Afterwards, a waitlist shall be formed.
