North Idaho College will host its annual Women at Work event on Wednesday, March 5th at the NIC Parker Technical Education Center in Rathdrum from 3:30-6:30pm. This free event is designed to introduce women to the career and technical education programs offered at NIC.
Guest speakers from local industries will share their experiences as women working in traditionally male-dominated fields. According to the Idaho Department of Labor, women have accounted for 54% of Idaho’s labor force growth over the past five years. NIC’s CTE programs aim to support women in gaining the skills needed to excel in these growing career fields.

“This event is really special because it shows the women in our community that they are more than capable of becoming skilled welders, cybersecurity analysts, graphic designers and more,” NIC Marketing and Events Coordinator Elli Michael said.
Information about in-demand careers and how NIC’s programs can help women enter the workforce will be available, along with opportunities to meet and talk with program instructors.
