NIC men’s basketball players visited Fernan STEM Academy on Wednesday, Oct. 22 to show off their skills with elementary students.
The team performed dunks and shooting drills at the school and spoke to the students about maintaining an active lifestyle.
“We’re always excited to get our athletes out into the community,” NIC Director of Athletics and Recreation Shawn Noel said. “Skills showcases like this one are a great opportunity to talk to kids about being active and give them something to aspire to.”
The visit is part of NIC Athletics’ ongoing community engagement efforts. Both men’s and women’s basketball teams are scheduled to visit more schools in the area throughout the year.
