Women’s Soccer sweeps weekend homestand

Heading home with a winless record in four games played, the NIC Women’s soccer team looked to gain momentum in the early season as Treasure Valley and Blue Mountain traveled to Coeur d’Alene over the weekend.

Goalie Kaysha Bailey had 4 saves to go along with a shutout 2nd half, and defender Sofia Schepf scored twice to power the Cards to a 4-1 victory over Treasure Valley Friday.

On Saturday, Ellory Ferris and Linnea Pretzer both recorded a hat trick, and NIC scored seven times in the second half to cruise past Blue Mountain in a 10-1 victory.

With the weekend sweep NIC improved to 2-2-2 on the season, and currently sits in  2nd place in the east region.

NIC is scheduled to play at Yakima Valley Wednesday, and vs. Wenatchee Saturday at 12 p.m.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face.
