Trustees Christie Woods and Ken Howard last Board of trustees meeting

Wednesday meeting was the last meeting that Trustees Christie Woods and Ken Howard believe they will participate in.

During public comment, NIC instructor Michelle Lipper gave her thanks to trustees Woods and Howard.

Lipper said that Woods brought a passion for education, and a willingness to listen to the community to NIC.

Lipper also thanked Howard, a member of the president search committee, for bringing integrity and wisdom to a successful presidential search.

Lipper said, “I have seen them exhibited time and time again over the years.”

Trustee Howard gave a president search update that they have selected 11 semi-finalists out of the 59 who applied. The applicants will remain confidential until a finalist is picked. The interview process will likely be done in June.

Trustees Howard and Woods both received a standing ovation at the end of the meeting, along with a bouquet of flowers and cards.

Trustee Woods said, “I am in my nearly eighteen years. I have worked with several different board members, 6 different presidents, lots of different administration’s, faculty, staff, and student leadership, and when I think about the years of all of them, I am so proud of NIC and all the people that work here.”
