Five Simple Tech Tips All Students Should Know

Here are five simple tech tips from NIC’s IT department that all students should know.

1. Get Microsoft Office for free
   • Login to MyNIC and search for install office to install Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
2. Clear browser cache and cookies
   • If you are having trouble viewing content in your web browser, try clearing cache and cookies.
3. Understand security risks
   • Learn how to identify phishing attempts.
   • Install security updates on your devices.

4. Back up your data
   • Use Box or OneDrive online file storage for easy and secure file access.
5. Mobile printing
   • Print from anywhere to the student print stations in Molstead, Boswell, and the SUB.
