Women’s soccer falls against Yakima Valley

NIC women’s soccer team lost 3-1 against Yakima Valley Saturday afternoon.

Yakima Valley scored within the first five minutes with a goal by forward Sessi Allot. Corynn Vigil tacked on two more goals, and the Cards found themselves in a 3-0 deficit at halftime.

NIC bounced back and managed to keep pressure on Yakima Valley in the second period, but too many times they came up just short. The Cards took seven shots in the period compared to just 3 in the first, but only came up with one goal from Maya Lewis.

NIC (3-2-2) will travel to Oregon to play Blue Mountain (1-3) on Sept. 20 and Treasure Valley (2-3-1) before returning home to play Walla Walla (7-0) on Wednesday Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
