New Kid on the Block: Lady Cards welcome new off guard

NIC’s Lady Cards are welcoming a basketball standout freshman off guard

Monica Landdeck, from Brewster, Wash. will join the women’s basketball team after she helped lead her high school team, the Brewster Bears to a 26-1 record ending the season off with a state title championship.

“She’s very tough and fast” said women’s basketball Coach Chris Carlson, “For a freshman she brings a lot of championship mentality”

NIC’s women’s basketball has a vast history of winning and Landdeck is no stranger to that.

She is coming off of a decorated senior campaign, being selected for First Team All Caribou League selection and also averaging 20 points per game, 6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game with a selection to the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association (WSGBCA). Landdeck also is a National Honor Student.

“I think I bring a lot of speed and I am also a team player.” Landdeck said
