Volleyball cruises past Wenatchee Valley

NIC Volleyball easily defeated Wenatchee Valley Wednesday night at Christianson gymnasium.

With the win Wednesday, Chloe Knudson and the Cards extended their win streak to four.

Last place Wenatchee (0-5, 1-18) proved to be no match for the Cards in the 25-10, 25-13, 25-15 win. NIC took a quick lead and if it wasn’t for a few errors in the second and third set, it could’ve been a far bigger blowout.

The Cards were led offensively by Journey Tupea, who tallied 13 kills. Chloe Knudson led the team in digs with 14, and Kynzey Mitzel accounted for 13.

“We played good,” Knudson said. “I do feel like we kind of played down a

little bit, but it really was good for preparing us for Spokane on Friday.”

Up next for the Cards (5-0, 16-3) is the aforementioned battle against Spokane (5-0, 22-0) Friday Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College.

Spokane, which hasn’t lost a match since 2017, defeated NIC earlier this season 3-1 in a tournament on Sept. 14.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
