Men’s soccer falls to Wenatchee Valley

NIC men’s soccer lost 3-0 in a match against Wenatchee Valley Wednesday afternoon.

The game was more evenly matched than the final score indicated as the Cards surrendered eight shots to Wenatchee Valley, while putting up seven of their own. A few of the shots were high quality, but just couldn’t find the back of net.

“In the first half we were able to find our forwards feet quite a bit and played underneath to our midfield which is the stepping stone to getting into the attacking third,” head coach Ken Thompson said. “We just didn’t really capitalize or get that next pass in, so I’d say we’re coming forward from the weekend.”

Next up for the Cards (2-3-1) is a road trip to Oregon to play against Blue Mountain (3-2-1) on Sept. 20 and Treasure Valley (0-3-2) on Sept. 21 before returning home to play Walla Walla (3-1-2) on Sept. 25 at 4:15 p.m.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
