Mens Soccer can’t find goal against Columbia Basin

NIC could not get anything going against a tough Columbia Basin defense, and lost 2-0 Wednesday afternoon.

NIC is 0-7-2 in the season when their opponent scores one or more goals.

The Cards pushed the third-ranked Hawks to the limit, but were unable to capitalize on the opportunities they generated in their final home game. NIC out-shot Columbia Basin 7-4, and goalie Isaiah Damschen managed to come up with two saves in the contest.

The Cards were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with the loss for the second straight season. NIC finished the season with a tough 2-3-1 home record.

Up next for the Cards (3-5-2, 5-7-3) is a match at Walla Walla (2-2-6, 5-3-7) Saturday Oct. 26 at 2:15 p.m. before playing at Spokane (6-1-3, 9-3-3) Wednesday October 30 at 6:15 p.m.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
