Men’s soccer can’t find goal in loss to Spokane

NIC men’s soccer lost to first place Spokane 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Eli Gregory makes a fantastic defensive play to prevent a shot attempt by Spokane

The Cards had difficulty getting anything rolling against a tough Spokane defense. NIC put up a total of three shots in the match, and had no shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Isaiah Damschen had one save in the contest, and could not come up with a save on a penalty kick that put Spokane up 2-0.

The Cards currently sit one spot below the final playoff position with six games remaining on the season. Three of those games are against teams ahead of them, so the Cards playoff hopes are likely in their own hands.

Up next for the Cards (2-3-1, 4-5-2) is a game against Treasure Valley (0-5-1, 0-8-2) at home Friday Oct. 11 at 3:15 p.m.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
