Men’s soccer blows out Treasure Valley

NIC men’s soccer put up a staggering seven goals in their domination over Treasure Valley Friday afternoon.

Is it really that simple? NIC is 5-0 on the season when holding opponents to zero goals. Conversely NIC is 0-5-2 when letting opponents score one or more goals.

Scoring came left and right from the Cards in their 7-0 victory, but leading the way was Noah Dreves with two goals in the first fifteen minutes. Others that got in on the scoring fest were Will Kokernak, Kai Flugel, Alwayne Anglin, Bob Green and Tyler Moore. Goalie Isaiah Damschen also picked up six saves in the shutout win.

NIC managed to keep Treasure Valley win-less on the season, and picked up a much needed win for a team just outside the final playoff spot. With five games left on the season, NIC finds themselves just one point behind Wenatchee Valley for the East’s third and final playoff spot

Up next for the Cards (3-3-1, 5-5-2) is a home match against Blue Mountain (1-3-3, 4-4-4) Saturday Oct. 12 at 2:15 p.m. The Cards played Blue Mountain last month in a match that ended in a 1-1 tie.

Just a dumb guy that enjoys sports. I'm pretty hard to miss with my long hair and New York Giants beanie, and you can normally spot me at most NIC home games with a befuddled look and a large camera pressed up against my face. If you happen to spot me don't be afraid to say hello. I'm usually down to talk about NIC athletics or sports in general. Wear a mask, please. I want sports back.
